Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are always a lot of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there must be a thing that you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something which triggered a transformation or a major healing. So, that which was it?”

“Trust,” I said.

Think of your daily life since it is apparently nowadays when it comes to the story. How do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So whenever we talk about the past stage of the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon all of these made-up concepts, beliefs, and ideas in the world. It's a lot like creating a big house of cards, stacking on one card following the other. Then the good wind occurs and poof, it's just blown over. It can't even stand only a little gust of wind. It's so frail a course in miracles author. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It absolutely was this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon anything else; all those issues that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments.

Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy? It surely comes right down to the essence of who's my brother? Can it be Spirit or matter? Can it be Spirit or form? Furthermore how many of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you're asking the question, “If someone dies or is apparently dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where this is heading is to the awareness that everything is mental. What this awakening will show you is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. This is a full world of ideas and what we call manifest reality, is not reality at all.

There's no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to construct his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the connection between thought and form. His lessons start off with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I've given everything I see all the meaning it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way up to number four, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's discussing thoughts. First He's discussing perception, then about our thoughts, then He returns with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You will see he's trying to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, that is trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back compared to that timeless moment that's the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to teach us that they're all illusions and that they're all equally meaningless. That's exactly the approach to operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with the mind to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What sort of things would you purchase, nowadays?
